sphinx aceo sketches

Expect quite a few of these, I've gotten rather sphinx obsessed in the past week.

MistHead project progress

Been conceptualizing a little something that I would like to make a mold of and reproduce on a small scale. Before researching as much as I should of, I sculpted the thing in an oil based clay. Which is alright, but the best option for a mother mold off of oil based clay is a silicone mold, which does resin casting. I was hoping the repros would be customizable once casted, and that's not exactly an option with resin, haha.

SO, this isn't exactly a failed attempt here, but I will be redoing it in polymer clay.

marker underpaintings

sketched these out in acrylic washes a little bit ago, and then lost them under a pile of papers. Faaaail haha.
Found them again, and took a break from the one commission in my que to do the underpainting/color studies in bic and sharpie markers.

the one with the elf chick scanned funny because it's a partially sculpted surface.

they'll go up on etsy when I finish them.

frozen oceans - sketch

This sketch is by Justin Hernandez, I'm posting it because he's given me permission to elaborate on it, which I will be doing in future posts.

life outside the fishbowl (progress shot2)

Didn't get quite as much done as I'd like, simply because I got indecisive about the exact design of the naga. I had him in my head, but didn't like it once I ended up putting it on paper. (Er, screen). So I tested a few things out, and I think I'm back on track.
